Putnam Community Cares, Inc. (dba Community Cares) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that provides help in managing normal household tasks for families of school-aged children who have a parent dealing with cancer or other major medical illnesses. We serve families throughout Putnam County, Northern Westchester and Southern Dutchess.
Community Cares was founded by Amy Sayegh in 2007 as a way to pay forward the help she received while undergoing cancer treatments and caring for her three small children. She learned that having help to manage daily life tasks during this critical time is essential to the entire family’s peace of mind. Since its inception, Community Cares has assisted hundreds of other families struggling with the same type of situation.
Community Cares offers our clients FREE household services, including meals donated by local restaurants, household cleaning, and laundry wash and fold services. We also provide a peer support network to the families.
Putnam Community Cares is a community wide project that uses local resources to help those in need the most.
